USB problem?

  richcarr 20:39 16 Mar 2008

I'm having trouble with my USB ports, the problem occured earlier this afternoon. When i was trying to put some files on to my external hard drive an error message poppedd up. Unfortunatly though i never read what the problem was.

Now whenever I plug in my external hardrive, it is receiving power no problem. But the device is not showing on 'my computer'. This is also the problem when i plug in a friends external hardrive.

Is it something to do with the drivers??

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Possible drive letter conflict !

Or for starters, refresh all usb headings

Goto device manager and uninstall everything under usb and reboot the computer, your hardware should now be recognised.
