USB " Problem

My pc running WinXP SP1 has an Asus A7V333 motherboard. 2 USB connectors on the back panel use USB1 whilst the other 2 run USB2.There is also a USB 2 header on the motherboard.
I have just installed an Innovision USB2/Firewire combo card and have run into a problem.
The front USB ports connected to the USB2 motherboard header no longer work - neither do the rear panel USB2 ports. The only USB2 ports that now work are on the installed card.
Is this normal?
Why have the front USB ports been knocked out?

Any help will be appreciated.

Maybe the combo card needs setting up: ... Look in sytem properties se if you have a conflict in the usb setup. Is it 'Plug and Play' or jumper selectable.

the 'On Board' USB should show as two seperate USB Hubs (0 and 1) and your combo should show seperately.

The problem has been sorted out after running the card setup program and all usb ports 1 and 2 and hubs are working correctly.
Funnily enough the setup procedure generated a Microsoft Error Report referring to the Via Chipset.Cancelled the send command.
