USB ports not working

  heepster 17:13 17 Oct 2003

I have a pentium 2 machine running XP and it has 4 USB ports. However just one of them is working now. Could my children have "turned off" the other 3 and if so can they be made active again?

Check the the card is pushed home in the pci slot
i asume it is a card you are using you don't say, there is no way you can turn three slots off and leave one active.

Device Manager will give the lowdown on the port status.

Get to Device Manager, then System. Open each USB Root Hub in turn. Select Properties and the Power Management tab. Uncheck the box allowing Windows to turn off power.
