usb ports

I have just recently bought a new all singing and dancing (I think) PC.
The problems (setting I hope) is that sometime on restart or after sleep I'm told that one or more USB ports are not recognised, try another port. When I do this or even just take out and put back in again it works okay. I have only two usb devices on at the moment, a Linksys Wi-Fi adaptor and a Logitech cordles mouse. One or other of them will not operate randomly at times until I do the above.

Any suggestions please?

Start/Right Click on Computer/Properties/Device Manager/ are there any problems showing with USB's?

In device manager
right click on each USB root hub
select properties -power management tab - untick "Allow the computer to turn off....."

Thanks rawprawn and Fruit Bat for your replies, I checked out both suggestions. No problems were showing with USB's and in the power management tab, boxes for all were unticked.
