USB and Parallel cables for Canon printer

I have been using my Canon S 750 printer with a Parallel cable since the first installation. I now wish to change this over to a USB connection, however I have since installed a USB 2.0 card alongside the original USB 1.0. Can I use the new 2.0 for the connection, or must I plug into the USB 1.0 socket. What would happen if I tried the new USB connection. There is no information on my S 750, as it has now been discontinued.

You can use the USB2 but, as printers are inherently slow, there isn't a lot of point in taking up a high speed connection for it.

I conected it up to the USB 2.0 and reinstaled the drivers, Its now working OK and a hell of a lot faster.

Possibly because parallel connection is very much slower than USB1:-)
