USB Lead on HP Pavilion 8635

Hi I have a HP Pavilion Desktop PC and inside the USB lead to the front port is not connected no where on the board can I see where this lead goes it is a pin socket with 3 slots then one blank and one slot again. This is causing problems connecting USB devices to the PC as we keep having to use the port at the rear which is a pain. On the mother board there is several pins with say 20 etc on a strip but dont know which one it fits onto

Can anyone help.

What does the cable coming from the front of the case panel look like? Is it 6 or 12 pin? This usually depends on whether or not you have 1 or 2 USB slots at the front of your PC. Some of the older USB cables that lead directly to the Mobo were made up of 2 grounding wires and two 5v+ wires. That was USB 1.0 though. We need more info Hullguy....
