I have just bought a cd-rw drive with integrated card readers. It requires connection to a USB header. There are USB ports at front and back of pc. At back they seem to go straight into motherboard with no header. The front ones go into a header which appears to have 6 pins. The connection to the drive requires 5 pins and is obviously in use anyway. Any advice on what to do. Thanks in anticipation.
You might have to disconnect one of your front USB headers or else buy a PCI/USB card that has USB headers on the card as well as external. The sixth pin is redundant usually your motherboard manual will tell you how to connect them if your connection is single pins and not in a block
