USB Flash Device

  Spr 17:18 18 Aug 2007

2CPU [email protected] 1.66gb of Ram 80Gb HD running Windows XP

I have a 4 GB Flash USB storage device, which shows the busy light indicating that it is working, Device Manager show it as a USB Mass Storage Device & is working properly.

Yet I cannot find it in My Computer, it has a lot of back up files I need photos & family tree etc.

Click on each of the usb ports that are showing in "My Computer" as removable drives and find out which one it is. That's how they appear on mine.
If I want it to appear as something else, right click it and rename it.

It does not show up in my Computer.
In Device Manger it did not show up till I connected it then it came up as
"USB Mass Storage Device"

Spr - why not try the USB storage device on a friend's computer? That way you will establish whether it is the computer or the device that has a problem

the usb flash may not be able to get a drive letter, download tweak ui click here
once youve got it,open tweak ui.expand my computer, click drives, there should be a to z of drive letters untick z,close and try the usb flash again, see if that helps
