Want to get a wireless access point (Netgear WG121) but its usb 2.

Are these backward compatible to usb1? Or do i have to install a usb2 card? Only I havn't any spare pci slots available.

USB2 devices are generally backwards compatible to USB1.1 but the speed is downgraded.

PS My advice would be to fit a USB2 card.

No need for usb 2 for this purpose only because usb 1.1 give you 12MB/s, but Broadband only give you 512kb/s. I assume that you want to have wireless for internet sharing purpose.

You couldn't fit a USB2 card anyway as you have no spare PCI slots available.
