usb 2 or 3

My back up drive, usb2, needs replacing. Should I stick with a usb 2 drive or should I buy a new usb 3 one and a pci card?

I dont think you will find USB 3 cards or devices about much yet.

I came across a couple of each at Amazon, and before buying a new usb 2 drive, I noticed the new 3 drives and it got me thinking.

Dont forget they have different plugs so you will need new leads and the rest of your PC may not be able to cope with the higher data rate anyway.

"your PC may not be able to cope with the higher data rate anyway"

Never gave that a thought. I'll stick with usb 2. At least it is tried and trusted and cheaper.
