Can I Install a USB2.0 PCI Card?
Reference my previous thread above, would I have to remove my old USB card on installing a new USB 2.0, or could I leave it. Does the USB 2.0 take over the whole USB function? Sorry if the question seems a basic.

I think i understand your question,If you keep your original usb and install also a usb2 card, then the usb1 will remain usb1,and usb2 will be as usb2.lots of new motherboards have both usb1 and usb 2.

Not basic at all! I'm not sure to be honest, but think you will be able to use both together. I have USB1.1 on my Mother board with 2 connections at rear, also a USB2.0 PCI card with 4 connections at rear of PC. I use 1.1 for mouse and keybord, USB2.0 for printer/scanner/camera/ Broadband. All work together fine. j.

You both hit the nail right on the head, and answered my question. I really only wanted to install USB 2.0 because the scanner I was looking at was USB 2.0, but all my other periferals are using USB 1/1.1, I'm not to sure which. P.

why waste a slot, If you install a USB 2.0 card it's compatable with USB 1.1, get a USB 2.0 Hub and run all your Peripharels of of it.
