Hi
Hi, hope you can help, it is appreciated!
I live in a 4 bedroom farmhouse with relatively thick walls. My Netgear router is attached to my PC but the signal is quite poor and I cannot pick up a signal in my living room on my laptop! very annoying!

Can you recommend a booster or something that will extend the signal to my living room downstairs at the other end of the house?

I need to keep the router next to my PC upstairs to keep that on tinternet.........driving me mad please help!

Laptop is brand new and picks up a lovely signal when in the same room as the router but goes down as soon as I walk out of the room

Hi.

There are a few things you could try. If you know how to access your router settings then you can change the wireless channel - I think 11 is the best for signal strength.

I think what you are looking for though is this: Belkin Wireless G Universal Range Extender Access Point

I have three of these in my home to ensure I get a full signal strength anywhere in my house. They are very reasonably priced (try Misco website)

Once set up (you will need to connect it to your router) then it only requires a mains connection. No need to have a massive ethernet cable!!!

Hope this helps

thank you I have changed the channel and will see how that goes, I will prob be back for instructions on how to link the belkin to my router!

another alternative would be to get a rangemax wireless n router because of the adapter you have in your lappy.for example netgears dg834n

Linking the belkin adaptor to the router is really simple. Took me less than a minute following the instructions provided.
