Hope you guys can help me, I've got to write a CD for an interview tomorrow morning. My local mates aren't around to do it for me and my PC's stopped writing CDs.
The detailed message is "There was an error in the writing process. The disc you have attempted to write may no longer be usable".
I've looked at a MS article in there knowledgebase, and googled. So far I've tried the following:
No sign of problem in device manager. IMAPI service set to auto and running. Tried CD-R and CD-RW. Changed DRA to POI in recording properties. Slowed down write speed. Checked "enabled CD writing on this drive". Disabled antivirus and antispyware temporarily. CDs and DVDs play fine. Uninstalled Realplayer in case that conflicts.
What else can I try? Please help this evening if you can. Thanks in advance. Neil.
Didn't think of trying other software. I downloaded a free program called DeepBurner and it worked. So immediate problem solved, thanks. I'd still like to solve the problem if possible - should I start a new thread without the "URGENT"???
