If I have a form to fill in - for example an order form - is there any way I can put this onto my computer and type in the necessary details?
Many thanks for your help.

Not easily.

If you scanned the document you would have an image of the document, but that wouldn't enable you to fill in the blanks.

You could use OCR software (Optical Character Recognition) but that would likely just capture the text, not the layout of the form. Even then you'd have to get the info. captured by the OCR software into an application (like Word) so that you could then enter the data.

You could scan it in as a picture as Batch says and insert it into word. Set text wrapping to behind text and then type over it. Another method is to insert the picture into the header and adjust it to cover the page. Close the header and you can then type onto the page over the picture. You can position your text vertically by using blank lines and adjusting the line heights or font size. Horizontal positioning can be done with tabs.
