Upgrading Mhz

Im running a pc with only 250mhz, pentium 2 i believe, how hard/expensive is it to upgrade. My motherboard takes PC100 ram, thats how old it is. Is there anyway?

See your other post but it is unlikely that your motherboard will even be able to take a P3 chip.. you stated that you already have half a gig of ram but newer boards won't use that type of ram. If you want to use it, best bet is to buy a 2nd hand P3 mobo and chip..perhaps a 750Mhz, which will cope with most all tasks other than playing fast games and will happily take P100 and slightly older components and newer ones!

I built a P3 back in 1998 and it is still running faultlessly, has taken its upgrades graciously and is superbly robust.I use it for coding and other geeky stuff.
