I want to upgrade my HP Pavilion PC to be better at playing games and I think the best way would be to get a better Graphics Card. The question is "will this integrated chipset cause me problems?"

My spec is below.

320Mb memory
20Gb hard drive
48 speed CD rom
56k modem
Integrated sound card with speakers
17" monitor
3D graphics card
Colour inkjet printer

Model - Powergen Pavilion
Processor - Intel® Celeron™ 800MHz
Chipset - Intel 810 chipset
Bus speed - 66MHz bus speed
Cache - Level 2 cache 128KB
Memory - 384MB SDRAM

Floppy drive - 3.5" 1,44MB
CD - 48x speed

Monitor - HP Pavilion mx70 17" multimedia monitor
Video - Integrated Intel® Direct AGP with 3D graphics
Video memory - 11MB shared video memory
Sound - Integrated AC '97 sound solution
Speakers - 2 Polk Audio premium stereo speakers
Expansion slots - AGP/PCI 3 PCI (2 PCI free)
Bays - 5 expansion bays (free: 1 x 5.25" external, 1 x 3.5" internal)
Keyboard - HP Internet command keyboard
Mouse - PS/2 scroller mouse
USB ports - 2 USB ports (1 in front)
Parallel port - 1 parallel port

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

If it's got an AGP slot, it must be one of the motherboards designed to enable you to upgrade the graphics.

I would suggest you get a reasonable, but not over the top card, otherwise the processor will be limiting performance anyway. Such as a GeF4 MX440 card, with 64Mb RAM.

If you look in the BIOS and/or the manual, it will should tell you what to do (if anything) to disable the on-board graphics.

It will also pay you to get the latest intel 810 chipset drivers from the intel site.
