Upgrading fron 98 to ME

if i use an upgrade cd rom will i keep my original files from before eg. word documents installed programs ?

why anyone would upgrade from 98se to ME is beyond me, I think ME was/is crap. Before you could blink 2000 was out in the hope to cover up the mess.

i tried upgrade, more hassle than its worth,
suggest backup all doc`s etc. then install ME clean, then restore all doc`s etc. and start again.

if win98 is unstable, upgrade to ME will only make things worse, clean install or nothing.

when I upgraded it was a disaster, then tried clean install, nice and stable.

Go for it - MUCH nicer looking than 98 and rock solid when you've put it on a diet. I have to go round to a friend running XP to remind myself what a blue screen looks like.
