Upgrading a Compaq Presario for a newbie?

Hi

My sis just got a broadband connection. Unfortunately, nobody bothered to check if her computer was broadband ready. I just tried to set it up and noticed that there is no adsl socket.

I would like to upgrade the computer to use broadband myself. While I am at it I thought I would upgrade the whole thing although I have never done it before. Here is the spec:

Compaq Presario 5BW120 5000 series
Intel Celeron 600Mhz
64Mb
15Gb Hard Drive
DVD ROM
56k Modem

Any advice/ help will be greatly appreciated. I don't imagine it will be easy but I am willing to give it a go.

PS I am assuming it will be cheaper to upgrade than buy a new one.

If you have a ethernet connector on PC then this is the kind of thing you want click here
You can have one or both computers connected to the net at any one time if they are the same family house
