Upgrading to 64-bit Windows 7 without losing data?

I have currently got an old 320GB hard drive with Windows 7 32-bit installed. I would like to upgrade to 64-bit, but at the same time I don't want to lose all my files, settings, drivers etc. Is there any way to upgrade and still keep all the settings, drivers and files?

Is it possible to also keep the programs with that program?

I would think in two parts: 1 Programmes etc. These have o be loaded from original discs. You may need new drivers anyway for some programmes and hardware. 2. Data you hace generated ("My Documents" - Word, Music Photos etc. . These can be copied to a USB HD then imported to the new set up. I would do this anyway as a back uo just in case.
