Upgrade to XP possible spybot problem?

I upgraded from win98SE to winXP home.
I was having a lot of problems when instaling new programmes, as spybot was constantly popping up and informing me that all sorts of registry files etc were about to be changed, and gave me the option to accept or not to accept these changes.
I think that Spybot was the cause of all the freezes and error messages.
Any ideas on this. I have Adaware installed, do I realy need spybot
Thanks
Fred

Spybot spots things that Ad-aware misses and vice versa. In Spybot click on Immunize and untick everything (i.e. turn Immunize off) or tick "Block downloads silently". Use Spywareblaster instead click here
