Upgrade pc for video editting

  edric60 19:28 08 Aug 2006

I have an Evesham PC with a 1.4ghtz AMD processor, 512 mb memory, an ASUSeK motherboard and a Nvidia GeForce2 GTS graphics card
I do quite a lot of vieo editing and photo processing and am thinking of upgrading with a new motherboard, graphics card and PSU
Can anyone give me a few ideas as to what I should buy?
Can I keep my current case, drives etc?
Any help would be appreciated

My advice to you would be go out and buy a new low spec PC as for one the upgrades you suggest will void the current OEM windows licence you have and thats another 50quid minimum before you kick off.

Nothing to stop you buying a new system selling the old one and getting a small 80gb drive for 30quid to get rid of it keeping your own drives. With entry level systems minus monitors starting out at a mere 400quid it makes little sense to keep what you have.

In video editing the main demand is on the processor not the graphics card.
