Do you know the motherboard manufacturer?

If so, go to click here and put in the details and it will tell you how much RAM you can have.

If not, download Aida32 and it will ID the mobo; then go to Crucial.com/uk and do as above.

Hi trev. Follow the good advice from Diodorus Siculus, but bear in mind that if you have Windows 98, you will not get a lot of performance improvement above 128M RAM, and may start getting problems if you go much above 256M click here.

Hi bigtrev. I've just downloaded the manual for your motherboard from
click here (it is a 329kB self extracting zip file and extracts to 5 pdf acrobat files).

This is what it says about memory.

Supports two memory banks using two 168-pin unbuffered DIMM sockets.

Supports a maximum memory size of 512MB for SDRAM.

Supports 3.3v PC100 SDRAM DIMM.

The Kingston Memory Assessor click here says that for Windows ME, for light usage you can benefit from 128M, for medium 384M, and for heavy usage 512M.
