Upgrade from ME to XP Home

Not completely covered in archives, so still a query. Is it prudent to upgrade ME to XP Home with the Upgrade version or the Full version? Apart from the £70 difference, which version will work best, what are the pro's and con's? Any help gratefully received.

My personal choice would be not to upgrade but to do a fresh install of a fully working O/S to minmize the risks of transferring any probs from ME to XP.

You must first make sure you have ALL relevant XP drivers for your hardware saved, don't forget the Modem drivers or you won't get online to sort any problems.

The upgrade version and the full version are IDENTICAL in facilities and content - the difference is only that the upgrade version will insist that you have (not installed, but actually have the CD) a prior version of Windows. It will ask for this prior version to be inserted, for verifcation, when you do the install.
