my son wants to start playing online games on his pc, but his pc wont stand up to it, i think the only thing that wouldn't need replacing is the hard drive! its a low budget jobby, so whats best? hardware upgrade (memory, sound card, graphics card,) or new pc?
i'd havew thought a new pc, but if anyone has got prices just to show him, that would be great1

almost certainly cheaper just to buy a new pc base unit, assuming the monitor, keyboard etc are still OK.

I'd suggest looking at Novatech.

For gaming you need a reasonably fast processor, plenty of RAM, a decent graphics card, and a decent power supply to run it all.

Tom's Hardware Guide recently had an article on building a cheap but effective gaming pc; you could use that as a guide to the kind of thing you need
