Upgrade to dual core

I am thinking about upgrading to a dual core processor. I have a Asus A8N-SLI motherboard (not the deluxe or premium versions)and was thinking about getting a Athlon 64 X2 4600+ - 2.4 GHz.

Is it just a matter of buying the chip and inserting it in the motherboard or do i need to do stuff like update the bios and if so how would i go about doing that?

Thanks

So long as it is bios 1008 or above, it should be fine. click here

When i click on the processor it takes me to this page click here

What does it mean when it says in red "To avoid crashing file system, please do update the chipset driver to below version prior to this Bios"

Thanks
