Upgrade to Broadband & protecting the PC

  uncle eric 18:31 03 Oct 2006

I am moving a PC from dial up to broadband.

Do I have to change any settings on the anti-virus, firewall or spyware programs to ensure they still work as well on broadband?

I am running all the freebies, ie, AVG, Zonealarm, Adaware & Spybot.

Is there anything else I need to do to protect the PC?

I wouldn't think so as you seem to be well covered, welcome to the wonderful world of broadband.

Hi uncle eric.i use all the freebies you have listed, and they do a great job of keepiny my pc clean and safe on broadband. If you go wireless, make sure you use some form of encrypton to keep you protected.Wpa is best,if your router cant use that, wep is fine.
