Upgrade Advice - What to buy??

I'm going to be upgrading my PC in the next couple of weeks. I have £400 and need opinions/views on what to buy. There's no right or wrong answers with upgrading, but i'd like to hear your suggestions and ideas.

Heres are the choices on my shopping list:

Motherboard: 1) MSI KT6-Delta (£57), 2)Soltek KT600 'Purple Ray' (£54)

CPU: 1) AMD Athlon 2500+ 'Barton' @333MHz (£68)

VGA: 1) Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256MB DDR (£130), 2) Same card but 128MB (£110)

RAM: 1GB PC3200 DDR (2x512MB) (£100)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 120GB ATA100 (£61)

Will i notice any difference between the 128MB/256MB versions of the GFX card? Should i shave the memory to 512/768MB and uprate the CPU?

Cheers :)
Brian

You do not say what you are upgrading from.

If you are upgrading from a 286 then it will a wonderfull experience but , if you are upgrading from a 2000+ AMD , then forget it.

I would go with a motherboard that has an nForce 2 chipset

I'm upgrading from:

AMD Athlon 700MHz on a Gigabyte GA7IXE motherboard running 512MB PC133 RAM.

I have a Creative Soundlaster 1024 Soundcard and a Gainward GeForce3 Ti200 128MB Golden Sample GFX card.

My current HDD is a 20GB Seagate something... ;)
