Would advise you look at socket939 rather than 754 for future upgrade path for the processor.
The 754 will top out at about 3700+.
Plus the dual core chips are also socket 939

754 pin CPUs nolonger being made therefore a dead end board.

would agree with Rayuk and Fruit Bat /\0/\ AMD 754 pin is dead. the only reason to buy 754 pin items would be if you was on a really tight budget.

you can get 939 pin motherboards that do have AGP slots, so you would only have the cost of upgrading mobo, cpu and possibly memory if you cannot use what you have presently. a good board to buy would be ASUS A8V or A8V DELUXE (can install 9 hard drives in thoery with this board) both boards have ide/ata and sata connectors and will take all the latest athlon64 cpu's including dual core.

ebay would be a good place to look and would recommend athlon64 3000+ venice core but earlier winchester core are available at a slightly cheaper price
