its running on xp pro, ive tried to connect it through my internet connection but it just wont recognize the modem. it has a built in modem but this will only connect to a phone line and as i have cable broadband i dont have a phone line
Werzal - you say that you've tried to connect this computer to the internet using your BB connection, but it won't recognise the modem. Did you install the modem drivers on it first? If this is an old computer and your BB modem is USB, are you sure that the computer is successfully supporting USB? Obviously it's got USB socket(s) otherwise you wouldn't have been able to plug in the modem, but have you looked in the Device Manager to make sure that the USB controllers, etc. are working?
