updated escd successfully!!!

What does this mean?
When one of my hardrives is connected up, the pc will not recognise the master harddrive and will not boot!! but when disconnected the pc boots and works fine!!
Then when i connect the same harddrive to a pci ide adapter, the motherboard bios boots ok then pci ide bios boots recognises the harddrive then comes up with the message "updated escd successfully" and then stops and wont load up windows!!

ESCD click here

The hard drive is either misconfigured on the jumpers on it - or more likely faulty.

If it's not been used on this particular system before - it could also be too high a capacity for the system.

i have used the said harddrive on this system before. so it sounds like it may be a harddrive fault!

You haven't been swapping cables over without disconnecting from mains power have you? This can and does damage drives.

i might have done, but i usually switch the putter off at the back first if im gonna do owt like that.
