Unwanted Instant update reminder problem.

Having gone broadband I decided to uninstall (destall?) my Robotics modem. Now on boot up I get a panel:-
"Problem with shortcut"
"The drive or network connection the the shortcut 'Instant Update Reminder.lnk' refers to is unobtainable"
I don't seem to be able to find this shortcut, presumably if I could find it and remove it this message would no longer appear? Can someone sort this for me please? Short of re-installing my modem that is!

Did you remove it from the computer?

Is it in the startup folder in your programs menu?

If not click, start > run and type "msconfig", under the start up tab look for the shortcut there and untick it.

Thankyou for replying.
Apologies, should have mentioned I am using Windows 2000. Can't raise msconfig so does 2000 not have it? Presumably there is an alternative.
No, haven't physically removed modem yet.

It was lurking in "Phone Tools".
