Unwanted emails

  juedoc 11:33 09 Nov 2008

Hi, I keep getting emails sent to me from my own email address. I have scanned my pc with Norton all in one security and all was clear but I am worried that someone has hacked into my mail. Any ideas.

what email are you using

ntlworld.com through outlook express

It's probable that someone with your email address, a friend or business associate, for example, has the virus and not you. The virus is using his/her address book to send emails.

you can block emails somewhere on outlook there is a option to block emails try doing a little exploring, i will have a look this end

Is there anyway I can stop them? I am the only email on the distribution list.

  bobbybluenose 11:55 09 Nov 2008

in tools blocked senders list click it and add the email address to block it

If the emails have anything in common, the subject line, for example, you can set up a mail rule in OE to block it.

I had a couple of emails this week seemingly sent from myself to myself. I just deleted them without opening.
The prob is on someone elses pc not yours as MAJ has said.

As they all have the same subject message I have added a rule to delete them and see how I get on. Thanks for your help x
