Running XP Home,512MB,3.06mHz.I have this partitioned, so have a C drive and a D drive. When playing audio on the C drive it sounds as if it has an echo on it, on the D drive it plays normally. Have checked the settings on sound control etc. and can see nothing wrong. Am i missing something obvious? Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

prob things running in the backgorund causing probs, try closing and background apps and see what happens.

failing that try reinstalling audio drivers.

Do you have onboard sound and a sound card?

You may not have disabled the onboard sound in the Bios.

Another factor could be the mike input in the mixer panel not being muted.

Or you could be picking up the sound from the speakers themselves.
