Unusual folder appeared after Windows update

After a recent Windows update, a folder appeared in my C Drive called C:\977dda41da9e5cfc5d1128a0091dec45.

It only contains one file: msxml4-KB927978-enu.log.

Is it safe to delete this?

And why has this never occurred after previous updates?

Regards, David

Yes you can delete it. As to why I don't know - I had the same and deleted it with no ill effects.

Thanks for quick response VoG.

Anyone else know what caused this, this time and not before?

I think its a glitch in removing the .txt file after the security file update has been installed

I had the same file and wondered what to do. Thanks for the advice; removed the folder.
