Unstable Wireless

  Aaron` 21:40 01 Oct 2007

I've currently got a Belkin 802.11b Wireless Router, 2.4GHz, 11Mbps. The wireless is fine for browsing the internet on both computers, but when I open an online game (downloaded, not flash) on either of them, I will lag out and disconnect even if I'm not pressing a control. I don't have this problem when I am using Ethernet, just with the wireless.
The host computer is a Windows XP and my laptop is Windows Vista.
Does anybody know what the problem could be?

The problem with Vista's new-fangled network stack

Do this open up an Administrative Command Window

Right-click-Run as Administrator and type in the following command:

"netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled"

You may also need to type in:

"netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled"

The changes take effect straight away, with no reboot needed.
