I get the above message when I boot up, tried safe mode and last known good config. Does this point to hard drive failure.

Anyone had it before

my brothers hdd did exactly the same thing the other day and i tried to fix the mbr then format it , but sectors 0-63 had errors , still got it just don't know what to do with it apart from launch it.

tried to recover some stuff he had on it but found absolutely nothing.

no matter what bit of kit i used to scan the hdd it came up empty , not even a windows file.

thought i was doing something wrong so tried with one of my own hdd's and it found all sorts of stuff i'd deleted before i last formatted so i can only assume its had a head crash or a serious read/write error thats trashed the hdd.

anybody wanna buy a 3.5 inch Seagate GB doorstop
