Any recommendations for a UPS, please? A basic 550VA such as click here is all that's needed.

I have a Belkin UPs and have had no trouble with it. I let Windows manage it rather than the supplied software.APC get good reviews.
U would normally recommend APC (I get their e-mail newsletter on a regular basis), but they are not cheap for the specification you require...:-(

The First link I gave I think the Battery is External. So should be able to use a big one
