i am on a old pc,standard pentium proccessor wins 98,i had my windows rebuilt at a shop a month ago, and they had installed microsoft office 97,professional edition as a extra, but i find it of no use to me and dont wish to have it no more, every time i go to my add/remove program in my control panel to uninstall it, it keeps saying to insert the microsoft office 97 disc 1 in to uninstal, but as the shop has it i can not, i am wondering if any one might be able to tell me to how to go about unstaling it from my pc without having to go back to the shop and pay to have it removed, can any one help me with this small problem i have please,thx.rilza.

Would the shop lend you the disk?

The shop had no business installing unlicensed software on your machine.

Now that I've mentioned that point, here we go.

As far as I am aware, you have to have an Office 97 CD to do a proper uninstall. You could take the system back to the shop and ask them to uninstall it for you or you will have to borrow a suitable CD.

Once this has been done, you can get a small download than cleans out the remaining files that an Office uninstall leaves behind.
