An unidentified program running on Autoplay

I have a program(?) or something that is running on Autoplay. It has no name and there is no means of identifying it?.It just starts up and appears like it is searching? for something(a torch swinging backwards and fowards)I try deleting it but it comes up again after a very short time. How can I find out what this is and how can I delete it?

Run > msconfig . This will give you a list of your Startup items. If there is one that has no description I would start by unticking it and rebooting.

What are you referring to when you say "Autoplay"? Is this when you insert a CD or USB stick, or when you boot your computer?

download tweakui if os is xp
you can edit autoplay handlers within the program

the torch thingy you describe is what appears in Windows when it's trying to launch an application but failing to find the necessary bits and pieces.

Is this something that happens at startup, or all the time?
