Unexpected folders in Explorer

  Farleyjim 16:13 20 Aug 2004

I've just opened explorer and discovered 28 folders in the Windows folder(written in blue) which are called "$NtUninstallKB810217$" Each folder has a different number after the word "uninstall". I did a Windows update recently which went wrong half way through. Could that have anything to do with it and is it safe to delete them?

These allow you to uninstall Windows Updates _ I would leave well alone.

They are in blue because they are compressed files. You may have run Disk Cleanup which has the option to compress old files.
