Unexpected flash memory write protect problem!

  DJ_Freestilo 21:31 30 Nov 2005

I have a A-DATA MyFlash PD2 256MB. Due to a problem with my motherboard that unplug & plug repeatly any USB that was connect it to it, my memory flash drive crash as i explain below.

I was writing data into my memory, when my board disconnect it suddenly without any warning, after that i can't write anything in the memory, can't formatted with any soft under windows, linux or ms-dos (fdisk, format,...) even the utility that came with my memory CD fall. It always say that the memory is write protected.

I do can read any data that was there before the crash.

I had done the test in differents machines always getting the same result. The memory don't let me write a byte into it. As I know my memory don't come with an external switch to enable/disable the written.

So i guess there is a soft switch that could be accessed through a soft to enabled/disabled that facture.

I'll appreciate A LOT any help or tips you could give me to solve this big problem.

Thanks in advance...

My memory has only one standard partition FAT16 with 256Mb at the moment of the crach.
