Unable to view https pages

Hi hope some one might be able to help,have a pc in Spain running win xp pro,(english version with the Geman MUI language Pack) SP2, all current updates, McAfee Antivirus V9.0. problem is that everytime my stepmom trys to visit a secure web page (https://) she gets page cannot be displayed, i have checked with her that SSL2.0 and 3.0 are ticked and we have tried with medium security and custom security settings in IE6 and still no differance.Have also had her clear out all cookies and has also cleared the SSL cache and also run a disk cleanup, also cleared out her history and any temp files She also runs Windows Antispyware and Lavasoft's Adaware again with all the latest updates. i have also tried to get her to setup windows messenger so i can take remote control of her pc but also get page cannot be displayed when she trys to associate her email address with .netpassport. any one able to offer any help. the other problem is that shes German and her english isn't brilliant thats why i installed the MUI pack. her ISp in Spain is Wanadoo

If she is using Internet Explorer might be worth a switch to Firefox to see if this works.

I have often found that if I have problems on a web page then switching to Firefox *does* solve the problem.

Have you tried switching off the firewall? If you can then gain access have a careful look at what is being blocked, particually port 443 which is the https port.
