unable to validate windows vista

  rien 21:01 26 Oct 2007

I have tried every known way to validate my windows vista with no success. The disc is genuine and the product key came with the disc. Both supplied by a well known PC builder. Everytime I try to activate I get the error code "0xC004C003" which says the key number is either invalid or in use.
I have followed all the suggested methods from the Microsoft support site always with the same result.
From the number of messages I have read this seems to be a common problem. Is there some secret way of being able to activate via the internet?
I am getting desparate because there isn' long before the 30 day limit expires.

Phone them, they may do it over the phone.

Sorry, just noticed you've already done that.

I am ashamed to admit that for ages I had been reading an "8" as a "B" from the poorly printed tiny key code stuck on the side of the computer, under a desk in a dimly lit room. A torch and a magnifying glass came to the rescue.
Once I submitted the correct code the problem is solved. Thanks for your response

I'm glad you got it fixed, don't worry you're not the only one to do that sort of thing, I'm not saying any more ;)
