Unable to uninstall several programs

  hssutton 15:37 14 May 2005

There are several programs that I wish to remove, but the dedicated uninstall feature will not work, nor will Add Remove progs in control panel remove them.

One program brings up the following message

>setupDLL\setupDLL.cpp(409)$ @ windows XP service pack2(2600)BT_Other 0.64.

Would be gratefull for any advise

Woodchip tried that, the PC goes through the uninstall procedure, informs me that the programs have been removed, but unfortunately they're still on the computer

Hi, go to Start>Programs> then hightlight the program folder and Delete. Then go to Search and look for anything referring to that same program, then Highlight & Delete within the Search window.

Do this for each program you wish to uninstall.

What OS are you using? If XP, have you tried a System Restore.

is there a remove program in the programs folder on the start menu if so try that, if not. Then you have only one choice. That to Go through the following. First right the Programs down you want to remove, then click search find put the name in and look for the program check all it finds, only delete things you are sure about. Next go to start/run type regedit go to menu and under Edit you will see Find Type name of Program just as you copied into box PS you should start from My computer at the top each time you do a fresh search Press enter to find, delete and confirm if it's the program, then press F3 it will take you to next reference in registry do the same until you get to the end of regedit. DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER THAN WHAT YOU KNOW IS THE PROGRAM at end just reboot
