Unable to Start the Skype Program

I've only been using this program a couple of days to talk to family members its a amazing what this does, now to the problem, I shut down Skype from the system try so I want to run the program and I get this error message:

"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed"

Any Ideas?

Try installing the latest version over it - I do this and the initial configuration is retained.

Have you tried restarting the PC after shutting down Skype?

It is generally loaded at startup unless told not to.

You should still be able to open Skype even if you close it down and don't reboot.

Do you have a Skype icon on your Desktop? If not, create one.
