unable to 'preview' jpg files

  TBH1 16:13 08 Jun 2003

until yesterday I was able to preview jpg files when in explorer - - still can to this with gif files but not jpg files. Also, when selecting then right clicking them, I select OPEN WITH but then opens with quickview plus.
Any ideas what I've done - - -

Go to start/run and type the following:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system\thumbvw.dll

Or choose option *6* from click here

spikeychris - - what an absolute star you are mate. Clicked on the 'click here' bit above and everything now back to normal. Any ideas what caused this ??

just noticed - - - it did solve the 'preview' bit but not the 'open with' bit. If I double click a file it opens in quickview - - if I open PSP8 and locate file it then open it will do so, just prefer it to open in PSP8 when clicking.

Depending on your OS right click and select PSP8, if you don't have that then hold the shift key down when you left click on it and you will have the option there..

Better explanation..

1.Single-click the file.

2.Hold the Shift key while right-clicking the file.

3.Select "Open With..."

4.Select PSP8
5.Place a checkmark next to "Always use this program to open this type

spikeychris - tried that mate, where usually you get an 'open' or an 'open with', I get only an 'open with' - plus the send to , revisions etc etc - - - -I select 'open with' then quickviewplus just goes and opens it - - - if it wasn't happening in front of my eyes I wouldn't belive it either. Got every confidence in hou mate :-)
