Unable to login to MyEbay

  jamscones 13:05 07 Sep 2008

At random intervals throughout the day, we are unable to login to MyeBay.
For example, at 1pm - 1:30pm we can login, and from 1:30pm - 2:10pm, we are unable to login.
When we are unable to log in, the browser tends to stick on the message: "read include.ebaystatic.com"
This occurs in both Firefox and IE, and is not a browser specific problem.

We are able to log in to ebay.com without error, and at any time of the day (including those times when we are unable to login to ebay.co.uk). All other websites we visit which require a login over a secure server are fine. We believe this is a problem specific to ebay.co.uk, which may be triggered by a certain element of our computer setup.

We have recently installed a second hard drive into the PC. This second hard drive was taken from an older PC which was used to access eBay. We considered that the login errors may be due to an interaction problem between the two hard rives. However, we disabled the second hard drive using the device manager - and the problem continued.

We have tried just about everything, in terms of: clearing browser cache / cookies, adjusting internet browser security settings, uninstalling antivirus, turning off the firewall, uninstalling / reinstalling browsers.

To confirm. the browser fails to load on the "MyeBay" page. The browser also fails to load the "Respond Now" page in eBay messages (on those occasions which we manage to login to MyeBay).

Any assistance which you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I use eBay every day, and the problem that you have doesn't seem to apply with my procedures, either on IE7, Firefox or Flock.

You are not using the new eBay 'beta' trial programme by any chance?.

If you use .com, then this is usually the American link website, and you might find USA$ instead of £sterling as the main pricing!.

I can verify that we are not using the 'beta' trial programme.

Yes. The functionality of managing a UK eBay account using eBay.com is different to that when using eBay.co.uk. Hence the need to resolve the eBay.co.uk login errors, so that we can login consistently.
