Unable to connect via usb adaptor to router

  realist 20:43 02 Jul 2010

USB Netgear WG111v2 wireless adaptor, latest drivers installed, but although Windows XP Home finds the wireless network it is unable to establish a connection to the Thomson Speedtouch ST585v6 router.

Encryption is WPA and the correct passphrase is entered but still "unable to connect".

Am I missing something?

Many Thanks.

Try updating your Ethernet Drivers in Devices.

Thanks for suggestions gratefully received but still trying to sort this. It connects, no problem, by ethernet cable but not wirelessly.

If you can access the settings on your Router try changing to a different channel which may help.

Tried all the above so returning adaptor as faulty.
Thanks for all replies.
