unable to change screen resolution

  dlguk 16:49 10 Apr 2009

I have just bought a new monitor (Iiyama E2207) which boasts support for up to 1680x 1050. While I don’t have to go that far I would like to be able to get a little higher than my current 1024x768. I tried the usual route, i.e. display properties and discovered that I cant even reduce it, any ideas.
Thank you

Did it come with a CD? If it did then you might find the driver on there for the monitor.

My view of your problem is your graphics card cannot do better.
Not the monitor at fault at all.

A 22” Widescreen normally use a “1680 x 1050” screen resolution to get a normal looking

display picture

Using a “1024x768” setting; will stretch the picture and make the display picture distorted and

every thing will look fat

To change the screen resolution – Right click on desktop – Properties – click Setting Tab

If you cannot change the screen resolution to 1680 x 1050 – click Advanced Button –

Adapter Tab – click “List all Mode Button” and see if “1680 x 1050 True Colour (32Bit) @ 60

Hertz is listed

If not listed check if there is an upgrade driver for the display card

Ty ambra4

I tried that and 1600x1200 is available so I clicked on it ‘apply’ ‘ok’. Then checked me resolution.. still the same. I have reinstalled from my resource disc the adapter driver, still nothing.

You need to change the display card to one that will allow 1680 x 1050 screen resolution
