I have 2 PC's. One is connected to internet via ethernet cablt through Netgear WPN824 router. The other via USB wireless adapter. The USB adapter can see the network but cannot connect as PC is unable to acquire IP address. I have DHCP enabled and have scoured previous posts & cant seem to get anything to work. Using encryption? Sure the keys match on the router and for the USB device? Added the MAC address of the USB device to the `allowed` list (if the router is set to restrict such things)?

Are you using the Netgear software supplied with the WPN111 ? If so get Windows to manage it instead , right click on the wireless network adapter in Network Connections and select properties , click the middle tab at the top that says " Wireless Networks " and put a tick in the box at the top that says " Use Windows to configure etc " then click on Advanced and make sure that " Access point only " is ticked . Ok your way back to the desktop and try again . Looking at your stats again , how come you get a DHCP server subnet of 255.255.255.255.last octet should be .0 , have you got everything configured on your laptop to get DHCP and DNS automatically , also in your ipconfig/all your node should say " mixed " not " broadcast " hmmmmm...

The only thing I did was to access router homepage & restate the password. So I can only guess that as per Brundle's post that the keys were different. Thing is I don't get how ? One minute could get onto internet. An hour later when I tried I couldn't! Very strange this wireless network stuff.
